HSSA has two strategic goals. One is to increase access to health services in Spokane County, and represents a fund of about 15 percent of annual revenues. HSSA’s other strategic initiative is to increase area health sciences research and the infrastructure that supports it, and designates 75 percent of its revenues for that purpose.

Purpose:

Invest in human capital (recruitment/start-up packages for researchers) and infrastructure (laboratory equipment, laboratories, etc.) to accelerate Spokane’s health sciences research capacity.

Purpose

HSSA invests in research that advances Spokane as a national leader in health care delivery research. Supports innovative research aimed at analyzing and effectiveness, economic benefit, and/or public health benefit of health delivery research by various research and studies.

Access to Care Grants

Access to Healthcare Grant

Purpose:

Each year HSSA sets aside about 15% funding from its revenues to fund proposals that create access to health care for certain Spokane County populations.
