Bioscience Infrastructure and Ecosystem Building Grant Purpose:

This grant opportunity is intended to support infrastructure that will lead to economic growth in Spokane County’s bioscience ecosystem leading to better health and healthcare and well-paying job creation. Allowable activities are limited to:
  • Business and Health Analytics and Tools That Are Widely Accessible to the Community and Provide an Economic Advantage to Spokane County’s Bioscience Ecosystem
  • Recruitment of Scientific Faculty Bringing Extramural Funding to Spokane County
  • Purchase of Laboratory Core Equipment That Is Widely Accessible to the Community and Provides an Economic Advantage to Spokane County’s Bioscience Ecosystem- Partnerships and/or Collaborations are Required
  • Collaborations and Innovative Bioscience and Healthcare Developments That Are Widely Accessible to the Community and Provide an Economic Advantage to Spokane County’s Bioscience Ecosystem

Bioscience Infrastructure and Ecosystem Building Grant Application Process:

1. Review the full Request for Proposals (when available).
2. We highly recommend you attend an Applicant Information Meeting (to be scheduled as the review date nears).
3. Carefully review the terms of the Grant Award Agreement Template (available soon) to make sure these are terms your entity can agree to.
4. Complete your application at the link provided.

Grant Review Process:

Review the scoring rubric for Bioscience Infrastructure and Ecosystem Building Grant Applications linked here.
Review Process Phase One: HSSA’s staff review the application to assure eligibility requirements have been met.

Review Process Phase Two: HSSA’s Grants Committee (consisting of HSSA Board Trustees) review applications and score them individually.

Review Process Phase Three: HSSA’s staff review cumulative scores and determine top scoring applicants.

Review Process Phase Four: Grants Committee meets to finalize recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
Review Process Phase Five: The Grants Committee briefs the full Board of Trustees on applications, making recommendations for funding decisions. The full Board of Trustees votes to approve or deny applications at a scheduled Board meeting.
